Perfect for adults too young and old
My daughter,24, contracted Covid and was hospitalized for it. She is still healing but at home now. Mouth Breathing and shallow breathing were issues on and off supplemental oxygen. Read this book to her and my husband. We got a kick out of it but also learned several breathing techniques to implement during stressful moments. We even discussed which breathing exercise from the back of the book we liked more and less and why. Great feedback and discussion. We even remind each other about our superpowers to this day.

A hands-on story that kids will love
I’m an occupational therapist and I wish this book was around when I was treating kids! There are physiological and mental health benefits to the techniques taught in this book, and I found myself doing them right along with Sofia. I can easily see this as a read-aloud story where both the parent or grandparent and the kiddo will have a great time with it as it is very hands-on. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

The main character Sofia is like most kids her age; she has good days and bad days. One day her friends don’t want to play with her, which upsets her, so she turns to her mom for advice. Her mom shares a secret on how to stay calm; 5 breathing exercises that Sofia discovers work. Sofia still has good and bad days, but her new superpower keeps her relaxed and happy. The author shares other breathing tips in the back of her book, suitable for all ages. The pictures are sweet, and simple, which fits with the story. Breathing, for sure, is a superpower for staying calm!

Mindfulness books such as this are absolutely needed at this time. This sweet and practical book teaches children breathing exercises in an easy and captivating way that no doubt provides practical skills that children can use in their daily life. Just brilliant!
Amazing book for teaching kids about big emotions!
I am a pre-k teacher and recently learned about the Five Breathing exercise that I have been practicing with my students. This book is a lovely way to illustrate this technique along with very real scenarios that my kiddos face every day!
An Important Read for Little Ones
Such a beautiful book, highly recommend it for those little ones with BIG feelings. My 5 year old struggles with controlling her temper, and has many outbursts throughout the day, this book has helped to reinforce the breathing exercises that we’ve been trying to teach her. My daughter likes the book so much that she’s asked for me to purchase the author’s other book about kindness, and since you can never have too many books on kindness, I’m going to 🙂
